Special days

We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday rather than Sunday given Matt's work schedule. Daniel loved the Museum of Flight although I think he was a bit disappointed with the Concorde since the entire interior was protected with plexiglass so there was a 3 foot wide corridor down the aisle that you could walk down and of course, you couldn't go into the cockpit. I think I was a bit disappointed, too. I thought it would be a bit more luxurious but it was just an ordinary airplane that flew very fast. I guess you don't need all the luxury if you're arriving in record time! The museum itself, though, was really fun for the kids. One more indoor location for winter entertainment!
My birthday was nice as well. Matt and I went downtown to the new Taphouse Grill where we ran into the owner who Matt knows from his Taphouse Grill in Bellevue. Then to Tulio's for dinner - a favorite Italian spot downtown. It was a nice evening.

Today was a beautiful day so we spent the afternoon outside with popsicles, water toys, and the sandbox. Wet, messy, tired kids but lots of fun!

Oh my goodness

it's really been a long time since my last post. Yes, I'm too busy but also I just forget. Things are their usual chaos around here. Daniel seems to have regressed a bit on the potty front -- we go through 4-6 pairs of undies a day... ARGH! He had an eye infection last week which was treated with eye drops -- not nearly as easy to apply as orange or grape flavored Amoxicilin. And of course, Kyra developed it on Monday... good news, same treatment! After we finished applying the drops in Daniel's eyes, Kyra would bring me the bottle, lie down in my lap and say "Eye". Now that we're actually putting them in her eye, she's not so interested...
Wish there was more to offer for news. Daniel and I were reading the Things that Fly book this weekend and I told him that the Concorde that is pictured in the book no longer flies. He was very upset about this and wanted to see it fly so we looked at Google videos and saw the last landing. I then realized that the Concorde is at the local Museum of Flight so I think we're planning to go and see it. Daniel's pretty excited about it!
