Happy Easter

Happy Easter! Yesterday was 61 degrees and gorgeous - today, pouring rain! We had a nice morning, though, with Easter baskets, church and Who-Cakes at IHOP... We thought about going to the restaurant but Matt usually ends up working when we do... espeically on a busy day like today. I wish I could say I had great pictures of the kids from today but Daniel was going 100 miles per minute all day... and Kyra not too far behind!
Yesterday we took both kids swimming together because it's between class sessions and had a really great time with everyone in the pool together! We skipped skiing because Daniel (and Mommy) really didn't want to go. Next week is the last week of ski lessons so we'll head back up... and then hope that next year is easier!

Busy weekend

We had our annual Easter egg hunt on Sunday afternoon. We had about 12 kids and we decorated eggs, hunted for plastic eggs and also had a "balloon festival" which was Daniel's idea. The balloon fiesta entailed purchasing a tank of helium, filling up 20 balloons and letting them go outside all at once. (NOTE: I do realize this is not an environmentally friendly thing to do...) The kids loved it and we really had a nice time. We don't have too many pictures of the egg hunt and the ones we have I haven't downloaded yet. I did get this picture, though, from a friend who attended.

Makeup Party

We went shopping today for items for our upcoming Easter party and Balloon Fiesta. At the drugstore, we ran into a kid-friendly make-up set (mostly various lip glosses) which seemed better than the two of them trying to dig into my stuff. Needless to say, there's not much left after the "Makeup party" today... but the pictures of Kyra are precious! We've also just begun putting clips and pig tails in her hair and I have to say it is soooooo adorable!

Update

All is well here. Life is busy. We're still doing skiing with Daniel despite the fact that it's been roller coaster ride. We mostly drive 45 miles each way every Saturday morning to eat lunch and snow and ski very little. He's young but mostly kids around rather than trying to do it... I suppose that is to be expected and it's important to just have him enjoy it but it's really a trek and a big time commitment to get up there and do virtually nothing... yes, I'm a bit frustrated. The teachers, though, are great and Daniel loves them. While Daniel and I are in the mountains, Kyra and Daddy go swimming. She loves it! Daniel also loves his swimming classes. He's in the preschool swimming class now and learning to swim which is great! The kids can't wait to go back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to swim in their pool!

Also, renovations have finally started on the new house. They are working on the kitchen and we will have final plans later this week for the contractor to begin everything else. I'm so thrilled to have the work started! Yeah!!!
