Football and Pumpkins

Matt's friend Dave visited from Indy this weekend for the ND v Washington game. It was nice to see the Irish performing - without turnovers! We had a really great time at the game.

Today was the long-awaited pumpkin carving party -- not a huge turnout but it was fun to have friends over (at the OLD house) and Dave and Ken to hang out with us, too. Daniel designed (by himself) the one-eyed jack-o-lantern.

I am optimistic that we'll be able to move next week -- the contractor should be completely out by then, the question is whether we can get closets done and moved... I'm extremely anxious. I'll try to get some updated photos this week. It sounds like they are starting to remove all the construction junk from the place so we can really see how it's taken shape!

Slow, slow, slower

Just a bit of news. Kyra got her ears pierced a week ago and was so brave. No crying - a little chin quiver that was immediately recognized by the piercer and the lollipop immediately took care of it. They look so sweet on her! I had some pictures the day of but somehow my camera card got corrupted between the camera and my computer...

Yesterday we went bowling which was really fun. The kids lasted about 7 frames, which was better than I expected. Daniel really liked it alot! He was pretty excited each time he rolled the ball. Bowling technology has really improved since my younger bowling days.

And, of course, there's the house. Not done yet, although should have been done this week. He's saying the last thing will be done on the 29th which is the guest bath shower. I told Matt to schedule the movers for that day... of course we still need to get closets, washer/dryer, etc. before we can actually move but I'm totally ready. I have a pumpkin carving party with friends scheduled for the 26th at the new house and am hoping we can still swing it -- if everything else is done and the place is cleaned up, I don't see why not... we'll just need to move some tables, chairs and kitchen stuff.... right???? Probably too ambitious....

Busy, busy

I keep hoping we'll be in the house soon and it will be soon... I think. Probably 1-2 weeks. I have a pumpkin carving party planned for the 26th at the new house and I wonder if it might just be the people and the pumkins in the house as it might be done but we might not be moved in... Here's a picture from this morning... a perfect, foggy 40 degree Seattle morning...

We also visited the pumpkin patch today and had a lot of fun! Daniel, of course, wanted to carve them today... We even bought some "sugar pie" pumpkins to make a pumpkin pie -- from scratch! :)

We visited ND last weekend on an extended weekend trip -- visiting friends in Indianapolis and Chicago on the front and back ends and Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt RaRa at ND. Daniel had a bit of trouble with all the moving around and new people. He was okay when we were at people's houses where there were toys and friends to play with but a complete disaster when we went out -- at ND, the game and the aquarium... so, we'll have to be careful with travel for the short term, I think...
Business for me is still good. I am a bit worried, though, that all this will catch up with my clients and with me. The restaurant had a good write up in the Seattle Times this week which was fabulous!
